Now, if you've seen any of my other videos or reels, read my blogs or just know me as a human being, then you know I'm a huge advocate of a living trust. But sometimes, and I get it, a living trust doesn't quite fit your circumstances, your immediate needs or cost. But, and this is a big one, you own a house.
Owning a house raises special concerns when it comes to probate and estate planning, and not having a contingency plan in place can be no bueno. So what do you do, right? How do you fix it? Simple. A transfer on death deed, also referred to as a TOD, ensures, if done properly, that your house will never have to go through probate. Sounds amazing, right? Also a TOD means you are not locked in.
